The Week the Angst Didn’t Die

Soundtrack of the Week

  1. Die Another Day [MADONNA]
  2. Going Under [EVANESCENCE]
  3. Dip it Low [MILLIAN]
  4. Mi Reflejo [AGUILERA]
  5. Helena [MCR]

Movie of the Week: Borat

  • Hilarious! A very good movie to watch specially if you are having an effing day. Laughtrip, as in!
  • On the contrary, offensive to Kazakhstan itself. They even used Kazakhstan’s official flag.
Was that scripted?
  • I can’t believe that some scenes were not scripted at all lalo na yung dinner party, yung Kazakhstan village. Parang game naman sila lahat. Mga utu uto, hehehe.
  • Kazakhstan has many problems: Economic, Political, and Jew. Kulit!
  • Ang kulit din nung introduction niya sa sister niya, after lip locking: She is my sister, the number 4 (or 3?) prostitute in Kazakhstan! Sabay pakita ng trophy, hahaha!!!
  • Wala siyang kwenta actually pero nakakatawa siya.

Special Interest of the Week: On World Royalties

Started with Marie Antoinette research then branched off to different existing royalties in the world. Ang saya! Existing monarchies include British (the most famous), Thai, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Dutch, Spanish. Halos lahat nasa Europe. Cambodia also has a monarchy but not as popular. =)

Obsessions: Meaning “google them, read everything about them, watch videos at youtube, etc.” Royalties (Only one of the Scandinavian monarchies has a woman as crowned princess to succeed the king as of present), Natalie Portman (great SNL Rap video!), Fushigi Yuugi (Miss ko na ang Fushigi Yuugi!!! Wahhh!!!), Angelina Jolie (Kickass, don’t care what people say attitude, the best!)

Showbiz: Happy Feet defeats Casino Royale for the second consecutive weekend. Borat settles for fifth place with over a hundred million dollars already. Sarah Geronimo is criticized for singing the national anthem in the Pacquaio-Morales fight in a very slow manner. May nagsabi pa nga na unconstitutional daw. Hehehe…

Work: Work is getting boring and tiring. Work is becoming monotonous. Buti na lang palagi akong nakakakuha ng muy amable comment at the end of some calls. Joke. Hindi naman, wala lang. Weird!

Academics: Academics crashed this week as the host body suffered from lapses of retardation, whips of depression, strips of hallucination, a couple of unnecessary obsessions, fatigue, and hypersensitivity. Academics is expected to recover by Tuesday next week but aftershocks should also be anticipated. Every domain of academic life were affected by these unwanted phenomena.

Future: Baccalaureate Era (2003-2008) 17-22: Spanish-Portuguese-Italian-French combo, guitar, part-time call center; Second Degree Era (2008-2010) 22-24: UP BS Economics, German-Japanese-Mandarin-Korean combo, piano, full-time call center; Singapore Era (2010-2014) 24-29: NUS MA SEA Studies, Bahasa Malaysia-Thai-Vietnamese combo, violin, full-time job in an uber-greedy capitalist corporation; London Year (2014-2015) 29-30: LSE MA IPE, Russian, flute; World Bank Era (2015-2020) 30-35: Junior Professionals Program, three words and a hyphen: Be uber-rich, Arabic; Foreign Service Era (2020-2025) 35-40: Foreign Service Republic of the Philippines, Dutch-Swedish-Norwegian-Danish combo; UN Era (2025-2030) 40-45: Humanitarian missions the best!; Recess (2030-2035) 45-50: Write that effing novel of yours, perhaps MA in Spanish-French; Hello UPD Era (2035-2045) 50-60: Be a UP Prof (naks naman!), gusto ko double department, sa Pol Sci department tiyaka sa EL department. By this time malamang oldies na sila Ma’m Maurillo, Ma’m Mercado, Ma’m Delias, Sir Arugay, Sir Quilala, etc; Ang mga future Sir Morada, Ma’m Casambre at Ma’m Luntao!; Retired (2045-2060) 60-75: I will be dead by 75, that’s old enough ano? Pwede na. Plans bound to change as usual…

Random Rants: I hate you. I hate you too. And you. Every one of your effing kind. I hate all of you. I don’t care what you say. I don’t care what you do. I will do what I want to do. I will say what I want to say. Starting now the motto is: The hell-I don’t give a damn! I have three words and an exclamation point for you: Die Morons Die! Escapist sentiment growing stronger. Need to maintain focus.

Dance Dance Dance!

Novembro 12 - 18

Dance Dance Dance!

Soundtrack of the Week

  1. Do You Only Wanna Dance [MYA]
  2. Dance Like This [WYCLEF]
  3. Bakit [GO]
  4. Dirty Dancing [BEP]
  5. Maging Sino Ka Man [SANTOS]

Movie of the Week: Dirty Dancing Havana Nights

  • Enroll me in a dance class! Right now! In Cuba!
  • Gael has outshined Diego since their Y Tu Mama days but the latter sure is the better dancer.
  • The role of Romola Garai was first offered to Natalie Portman; Romola is ok but I would have wanted to see Natalie dance ballroom; ok she did Pole Dancing in Closer but that’s uhm… different.
  • The role of Diego was first offered to Ricky Martin… A very big WHY?
  • The semi-finals dance was like WOW! Galing galing!!!
  • I don’t know if this is better than the original but what I like is that they put the Cuban revolution as a background for a light movie about dancing.
  • Whatever happened to Romola Garai and Diego Luna after this film?
  • In my opinion one of the best dance movies, hehehe, ang bias; Ang ganda pa ng soundtrack! Nakaka addict yung song and dance number talaga!!!

Moron of the Week: PC

Gusto ko siyang i axe-kick. Gusto ko siyang ipakain sa isang batalyong scarab beatles straight out of the The Mummy movie. Bwiset.

Addiction of the Week: Dirty Dancing Havana Nights and Love Actually

Wahh!!! Christmas na!

Science and Technology: Nagde develop daw ng robotic maids ang South Korea. Ang Israel naman magde develop daw (o nagdedevelop na ba?) ng Bionic Hornets na gagawing war weapons to trace and kill hard to find enemies daw, hahaha ayos. A couple of metoer showers for this week and the week to come. Storm discovered in Saturn daw that is almost similar to Earth’s storms…

Showbiz: Two weeks nang number 1 sa US Box Office ang Borat. Nakita ko yug trailer and I am definitely watching it. Sa November 22 na po. Mukha talaga siyang nakakatawa and I guess worth watching naman, hahaha. Sayang yung dalawa.

Work: Nakikipag chat na rin ako sa mga Brazilians (clients this time) on a normal basis. Nabawasan nga ang chat time with chatmates e…

Hindi nakasali sa Why did the chicken cross the road discussion kasi nag absent.

So yun lang, Portuguese and a little bit of Italian for now.

Conversations with the Inner Self: Shet, the peak of mental retardation. Confronted the moron and asked what the hell does it really want. A little drama ensued saying that all it wants is what’s best daw. Yeah right. Made ammends. Realizations came to pass. Will try to work together for the greater good. Will try to fix wretched life daw. Whew, I’m going crazy!

Help me Grinch!

Rise of the Zombie

Soundtrack of the Week

  1. Christmas in Our Hearts [CHAN]
  2. Dubidoo [KAMIKAZE]
  3. We Fit Together [O-TOWN]
  4. Perfect Christmas [CHAN]
  5. Maging Sino Ka Man [SANTOS]

Movie of the Week: Marie Antoinette

  • Sofia, thou shall not omit the guillotine scene in any movie with Marie Antoinette in it because that’s what our queen is famous for, no wonder a part of the audience booed you at Cannes.
  • Long shot ito for a Best Picture nomination sa Oscar pero frontrunner siya sa costume design the last time I checked.
  • Ok naman roles ni Kirsten, girl vampire-cheerleader-tennis player-Queen.
  • The movie would have been better if done in French.
  • What’s with Sofia Coppola and boring films?
  • Half of the movie was spent trying to make Louis XVI have sex with Marie Antoinette so she would bear the much awaited dauphin, boring!
  • Kirsten, remember when Reese did Vanity Fair and people started saying that she would be nominated for an Oscar? Didn’t happen. However, she made a musical the following year and won the statuette. Try her formula.

Bad Habit of the Week: Puyat

Zombie talaga as in. Nakakatawa nga e kasi di ba pag first day nanghihingi ng mga ID pic ang mga prof, siyempre sa ID pic mukha akong addict tapos sa personal mukha naman akong zombie! Bwahaha, malilito na sila which is which. Tulog!

Activity of the Week: Registration

Word of the day: Masaya. Nakapagbayad na rin ako nung Wednesday. Hindi nga pala ako kumuha ng Calculus this sem, hehehe. Summer ka na Calculus! Harharhar. Hindi na rin ako magsi sit-in. Just 18 units this sem, no more no less.

Pasensya wala kaming CNN e.

Magkakaroon daw ng Starstruck 4 (Exactly how many sequels do they need?)

Academics: I think I will really enjoy this sem. Best opening day so far is for Political Analysis, Why did the chicken cross the road? Hahaha, I heart Ma’m Casambre talaga! One of, if not the best professor in UP (in my opinion of course, tie sila ni Sir Luis Teodoro ng MassComm) Information overload naman ang Biology 1: Tig 6 daw ang tenga natin nung fetus pa tayo kaya yung may mga kuntil daw hindi nag fuse maigi; Ang Pilipinas daw ang 2nd of 17 mega diversity countries (2nd to Madagascar); Pwede na raw mag shopping ng sperm ang mga babae via Mechanical Reproduction kaso di daw pwede dito kasi Katoliko; Bakla raw tayo lahat during the embryonic stage; etc. Sir Quilop naman ang International Relations, in collaboration daw with the College of Music yung course kasi pag di nakasagot sa recitation kakanta at the end of the class. Hehe…

I do grammar and audio-lingual training everyday. Routine na siya in short para effective tapos sa work naman practical application. Hanep di ba. For Spanish medyo walang practice pero nakabili na nga ako ng Como Agua Para Chocolate kaya yun na ang practice for Spanish. French and Italian suspended temporarily.

Soundtrack of the Week

  1. Gocce di Memoria [GEORGIA]
  2. Bye Bye Na [RIVERMAYA]
  3. Tous Unis [LARUSSO]
  4. Maging Sino Ka Man [SANTOS]
  5. Bituing Walang Ningning [GERONIMO]

Movie of the Week: The Grudge 2

  • Sarah Michelle Gellar is so DEAD. She died in I Know What You Did Last Summer; She died in Scream 2; She survived the Hollywood remake of The Grudge only to die in this sequel; As Buffy she died twice (or was it thrice?); No wonder her career is so… Dead.
  • Bakit pag binibigyan sila ni Espasol ng pagkakataon tumakbo hindi nila ginagawa, the Japanese guy could have survived if he ran.
  • I’ve seen that Japanese guy before; he’s the host of MTV Whatever Things!
  • Yes, it is scarier than the first one.
  • Good news is that everyone died kaya wala nang sequel!
  • Ok ang film kasi hindi lang siya remake kundi part of the original version.
  • And so the Horror genre has been typified by overpowdered women with huge varicose veins in their faces and overpowdered little boys who actually think they are cats.

Moron of the Week: PC

Grrr. I hate you PC, I hate you!

AMEN.

Event of the Week: Sweldo na ako!!!

Ewan.

Showbiz: Oscar Best Actress race is getting tight, likely nominees are Helen Mirren (The Queen), Kate Winslet (Little Children), Penelope Cruz (Volver), Judy Dench (Notes on a Scandal), Cate Blanchett (The Good German), and Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada). The “Catfight” as dubbed by The Envelope gets tighter as Gong Li (Curse of the Golden Flower) joins the lot. Gong Li! Gong Li!

Siguro naka 20 calls din ako this week. Naiintindihan ko naman sila tiyaka nililinaw ko before I make a move. Go fight!

Well nadagdagan ang chatmates.

Good luck naman, with Calculus around…

Peste, damn numbers.
